Sensational New Packaging from Sunkist
May 20, 2009
Las Vegas, NV (April 2009) - To the retailer and the consumer, Sunkist is one of the most recognized and respected brands in the world – a name that delivers the very best in fresh taste and natural goodness and adds excitement to the shopping experience. Sunkist packaging is designed to enhance the quality, value and brand awareness of Sunkist fresh citrus.
Sunkist's consumer-focused packaging – cartons, bags, bins and display masters – are carefully and creatively designed to meet the merchandising and display needs of retailer and foodservice customers as well as to increase efficiencies in handling and transportation.
Sunkist's goal is to stimulate the "senses" that are uniquely citrus. Using carefully developed photography and graphics, the designs communicate great taste and great quality. The high quality graphics showcase appetizing close-up photography of citrus varieties reflecting the energizing enjoyment of Sunkist fresh citrus, adding color and excitement to the produce department. And all Sunkist packaging reflects the country of origin.
Sunkist’s focus on consumer-oriented packaging includes: bags and clamshells for consumer convenience; gift boxes for special occasions; promotional-themed packaging designed for families with kids, as well as packaging that makes it easy for the retailer to create exciting displays that attract the consumer. The dynamic packaging also showcases some of Sunkist's newer specialty citrus varieties in ways that entice and educate consumers about these less familiar taste sensations.
"Our aim is to create a “citrus sensation” with our packaging," says Sunkist's Packaging Director Dean Troxell. "Our design process starts with understanding the consumer. Consumers buy with their eyes so our packaging is designed to showcase the natural goodness of Sunkist citrus."
Among the new packages Sunkist is introducing are: an 8 lb. Sunkist Organic Lemon Mini Pack Carton; both a half carton and 1 lb bag for Meyer Lemons, and attractive new Giro “Stand Up Grab Bags” for Minneola Tangelos, Cara Caras Navels and Moro (Blood) Oranges. The new bag’s “stand up” feature offers prominent display of the Sunkist brand with plenty of room for recipes and nutrition information as well as high visibility of the fruit. The two-hole grip adds carrying convenience for consumers. Also new are a Sunkist Mandarin Bagmaster designed to carry all Sunkist Mandarin family Giro Bags, as well as a new Sunkist Bagmaster Display Unit. This self contained Point of Sale Display Unit is designed with an interchangeable Header Card so different varieties can be displayed. Each unit comes with its own mini-pallet so all the produce manager needs to do is to roll it out onto the floor with a pallet jack, remove the cover and insert the header card.
